CHARLIE IS NOW RESERVED AND WILL BE HOPEFULLY GOING OFF TO HIS NEW HOME SHORTLY

Charlie came to us as yet another stray, he was in a bit of a state having been obviously suffering from a flea allergy and/or mange.  The vet estimated him at 2-3 years old and he came accross as a friendly happy dog with both people and dogs.  As he needed daily baths he went off to a foster home where this could be carried out more easliy.  He is now ready for a new home although does still need neutering.  

This is what his foster home had to say about him.

Charlie is a lovely dog with a gorgeous temperament, he loves people and is great with other dogs. In his foster home, he’s been working on sitting, giving paw, staying and lying down as well as practicing his recall and lead walking. He loves fetch and seeing a ball or stick makes his tail wag so much he can barely sit still! In the house, he loves nothing more than to snuggle on the sofa for a cuddle or curl up with our other dog. At night he predominantly sleeps in his crate downstairs with Tia on the sofa, however, he is very well behaved and has slept on the sofa with her a couple of times with no issue or accidents.  Charlie would benefit from someone who is at home most of the time as he really likes company, although he can be left for short periods with another dog. He’s never been left completely on his own so we are unsure how he would react to this.   Whilst Charlie has had some 1:1 lead training time, he would benefit from more time dedicated to this, he’s very food motivated and a clever boy so we are confident with enough time and positive reinforcement he’ll get there. His recall has been practiced in enclosed gardens and smaller parks and this training will need to be continued in his new home.  He came to us needing treatment for his skin and this has improved nicely with hair re growth coming through and the treatment almost finished - he’s also brilliant in the bath and incredibly patient with this.
