BEN

Ben was picked up as a stray in same area as two almost identical dogs so it is likely all three came from the same place.  As he is a stray we have no information regards to his past or his breed, age etc, other than that the stray kennels listed him as a Springer x Pointer.

He is a young boy maybe 2 ish and is bigger than a springer with long legs (Dalmation or smaller Pointer sized).  He has a lovely, soft nature and has been good with all people and dogs he has met whilst in our care.  He doesn't however appear to have had any training so will need work in all areas (inc house training).  Although bigger than a average Springer he doesn't pull on the lead quite as much as some (but does still pull) We walk him on a canni collar or gencon and he walks quite nicely on this.  Given the breeds we think he is it is not suprising that he is very interested in wildlife so work on recall would be needed before he could enjoy off lead exercise.

Ben could go to a home with or without another dog .  He is very interested in other dogs and will bark when seeing a new one but once introduced he is very good with them.  However he will need some time for one to one training so this should be taken into account.  We always say that Ben is the dafter brother, a bit of a goofball - LOL.  He is a little more cautious than than the other two when encountering new things and is as interested in toys, he would rather have a cuddle.  We think a home without cats would be best.

His nature is such that with the right introduction could go to a home with older children who are used to pets (and who are robust enough to not mind getting knocked over a time or two).  We cannot believe he is still with us as he has by far the nicest nature of all the dogs we currently have.

Despite the lack of training and probablility of him never having been in a house, he is likely to settle in quite quickly, both his brothers have now gone off to new homes and settled in perfectly well and very quickly, all three boys were almost identical in actions/nature so we are sure that Ben should fit in to a home just as well.
