BARNEY

Barney is an ex working prison dog who is looking for a loving retirement home, nothing too sedate though!   He is used to working so does need both mental and physical stimulation to keep him happy. He is friendly with people and has lived with another dog however can be a bit grumpy initially with other dogs when on his lead.  We were told that he had very good recall and was better off lead than on, however this does not seem to be the case when in a new rural environment with wildlife (plus chickens and goats) to entice him so he may need a little training to cover this.   As with what appears to be the majority of Spaniels he can sometimes growl if protecting a stolen treasure.

Barney is currently in a foster home in the Market Weighton area and anyone wanting to adopt him must be willing to go their to meet him.
