Rolo

Rolo came into rescue during the Covid period, he had been purchased during the inital lockdown when everyone was at home and then as the months went by the family realised that they could not cope with a very young, very lively Sprocker. They brought him into rescue, however as he had not been socialised etc he was terrified in kennels. We were still at a time where rehoming dogs wasn’t very easy, we were not supposed to travel and could not mix with people not in our circle so I ended up taking him home with me (Heather).

He was completely wild and untrained, we spent the first few weeks with him on the lead in the house as otherwise he just would not settle and was bouncing from one piece of furniture to another. I had Bella & Nellie then which also complicated things, Bella was poorly and at end of life care and Nellie hated bouncy dogs (amongst other things) but we persevered.

In some ways he turned out to be a great dog, he is friendly with people and other dogs but is still (5 years on) a bit of an a**e and is called that numerous times a day (with affection honestly).

He went from living in a home here he spent a lot of his time in a crate, didn’t get a lot of attention and only short lead walks (at 10 months he hadn’t been off a lead) to Spaniel heaven. He now rarely goes on a lead, walks for at least 2-3 hours a day in woodland and lakes and gets all the attention he demands (we have to as we can’t stand the barking if he doesn’t get it)
