News
We’ve been quite busy over the last few months with many dogs coming and going pretty quickly, although we do seem to be collecting a few “problem” dogs who are proving more difficult to find homes for. Their problems are not un-resolvable and given the right home and training they could become wonderful companions. However, these homes though are few and far between so these dogs are destined to be with us for longer than most which puts a strain on both our finances and kennel space. We never give up looking though, and the fact that Skipper and Smudger both found a special homes after years in kennels gives us home.
We currently have very few volunteers which makes caring for the dogs and fundraising very difficult and means we cannot help as many dogs as we would like. We are sure that there are many of you out there that would help if you only knew how and we are really hoping that some of you will take the time to join us at Todwick Village Hall at 7.30pm on 27th June to find out. Don’t worry, we will not be asking for money or for you to sign up for anything on the night, we would just like an opportunity to explain more about what we do, the problems we face and how you may be able to help. If after listening to us you still think there is nothing you can do to help then that will be OK, we do realise that not everyone has the time.
Todwick Village Hall is on Kiveton Lane, Todwick, S26 1HJ. Todwick is located about 1.5 miles from Junction 31 on the Motorway M1/A57.
It isn’t essential but it would be helpful if you could let us know on 0114 2879786 if you can attend so that we have a rough idea of numbers, or indeed if anyone at all will turn up (we don’t want to pay room hire if no-one is going to be there).
Thanks
Thank you to everyone who has sent in doggie updates, we’ve included a couple in here, hope you enjoy them, we’ll try and get some of them on our website asap and will also display some at our events. As always we also want to thank everyone who has made any sort of contribution, without people like you we couldn’t continue to help these wonderful dogs.
Bereavements
As usual we’ve had tears as well as smiles and our thoughts are with the families of the following dogs:
Bracken Barrett, Cassie Turner, “Mumbling“Mack Holman
